In order to implement the core functionality of SFC (its data management systems), the following key issues need to be addressed:

• Basic build with core dependencies (capnproto & botan) on target platforms (windows & linux)
• Implementation of in-process infrastructure (library and thread context handles, in-process connection)
• Implementation of basic RPC infrastructure (capability root, id generator, data pipe, TCP/IP connection)
• Implementation of data infrastructure (store, cache)

To address scientific functionality, the following subsystems then need to be implemented on top:

• Magnetic field computation
• Geometry processing
• Field-line tracing

The following advanced functionality should be implemented as needed:

• Secure connection via TLS
• SLURM integration for worker spaning
