Investigate whether IShape3D and DoubleEllipse can be replaced for some or all shapes by analytic expressions
-
If I remember correctly, DoubleEllipse and IShape3D have no other purpose than supporting a simple computation of the bottom and top z coordinates of rotated particles. Is this true? -
Next question then: whether this is an adequate numeric solution, or just an ugly workaround that could or should be replaced by analytic expressions for some or all particle shapes. From my knowledge of project history it is perfectly possible that developers felt under strong time pressure and just did not find the inner peace of mind to sit down for a few hours and work out the analytic geometry.
