A project to establish and operate a national open access monitor, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
|
|
|
|
The project aims to improve the available data concerning open access (OA) in Germany. By establishing a monitor for the transition process from closed access (mostly subscription fees) to open access (mostly publication fees), data from existing projects are collated and their data base is expanded. The data are then made available for use in a hierarchical user interface and released in scientific publications.

|
Data on the publication of articles in scientific journals are currently being evaluated. For this purpose, a digital object identifier (DOI) is required. |
