Adding all including library package to Steca (like in BornAgain)
@j.wuttke this is one issue I'd like you to read and give me your thoughts/decisions on
@a.nejati and I had a discussion yesterday evening after I've came back from the Steca workshop
Similar to BornAgain we would like to add the following feature to the linux version of Steca:
An all containing library package which includes all deps which are the following:
- Qt 6 libraries
- YAML
- libhf5
- libQcr
- libCerf
- LMFit
Since this is a feature already present in BornAgain we have experience to do it. We would also just give another of BornAgains features to Steca. I think this should be already in your favor, though by this we would also offer releases which
-
could also later be easily installed and run. Even if the libraries have been changed drastically (especially true for less experienced linux users (students))
-
would run on any linux system even on those which are incompatible with Qt6 installation
That last point is not hypothetically: Jens Krueger coudln't run Steca since his linux system is incompatible with Qt6 and he officially requested from me to add (or to be more precise re-add) Qt5 support to Steca.
