GUI: error messages must not be hidden in "Messages" tab

When something goes wrong in a simulation, then this must be displayed prominently to the user.

Currently, error messages from Simulation/Jobs go to a "Messages" tab, which is not active by default. Therefore such messages are easily overlooked.
